WINNIPEG – A pedestrian was taken to hospital in critical condition Thursday afternoon after being hit by a vehicle at Panet Road and Nairn Avenue in what police are calling a serious collision.

Several lanes in the area remain closed since the incident occurred around 3 p.m. The pedestrian involved remains in critical condition.
Police urged people to avoid the area in a tweet from their account at roughly 4 p.m.
TRAFFIC UPDATE: Person to hospital in critical condition, road closures (Panet & Nairn) likely in effect for several hours. Avoid area.
