REGINA – The Water Security Agency (WSA) is trying to help Regina and Moose Jaw with their water issues by flushing Buffalo Pound Lake with water from Lake Diefenbaker.

The Buffalo Pound Water Treatment Plant requested the WSA’s help with water quality issues being experienced at the plant. Weather conditions and rapidly changing water temperature in conjunction with algae blooms have limited the amount of water available to residents in both cities.

Over the next four days, outflow from Buffalo Pound Lake to the Qu’Appelle River will be increased by 10 cubic meters per second. People will notice Buffalo Pound Lake drop roughly 10 centimeters.
