WADENA, Sask. – Saskatchewan RCMP say crates of live chickens spilt off of a semi travelling on Highway 5 Tuesday. At around 4:30 a.m., officers were called to a motor vehicle collision between Wadena and Kylemore.

Mounties say the semi was heading westbound when the tires fell off the north side of the highway. The driver attempted to pull the vehicle back onto the road when his load shifted, causing several crates to spill into the north ditch.

The semi was carrying approximately 6,500 chickens destined for Saskatoon.
