Three bystanders injured in downtown Edmonton shooting

EDMONTON – A shooting outside a downtown nightclub sent three bystanders to hospital early Saturday morning.

At around 2:20 a.m. on May 23, police responded to a weapons complaint near 100 Street and Jasper Avenue. It was reported that two people were involved in an altercation using guns outside a nightclub in the area.

It’s alleged that shots were fired and that the suspects left the scene – one on foot and the other in a vehicle.

Three bystanders sustained non life-threatening gunshot wounds. A 31-year-old woman, a 35-year-old man, and a 23-year-old man were treated and taken to hospital by EMS. Police say all three are now in stable condition.

Police don’t believe the shooting was random.

During the shooting, a fight took place just east of the nightclub. Police are still investigating the two incidents and whether they are connected.
