Man found alive, but seriously beaten on side of road in Penticton

KELOWNA – A 37-year-old Penticton man was found severely injured and laying on the side of the road at the 3 kilometre mark on Shingle Creek Road off Green Mountain Road. Penticton RCMP say shortly after 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, police received a report of the man being badly assaulted and left on the side of the street.

“Officers attended and located the individual roadside,” says Corporal Dave Tyreman with the North District Advisory NCO. “He was taken to local hospital and treated for what appeared to be serious, but non-life threatening injuries.”

Tyreman says a 32-year-old man is in custody and police are looking for other suspects.

“Police believe the individuals involved in this incident are known to each other and the public is currently not at risk,” says Tyreman.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact RCMP.
