TORONTO – A violent jewelry store robbery in Vaughan last summer resulted in two employees being stunned by a Taser and a gun pointed at the owner’s 11-year-old daughter, according to York Regional Police.

“It’s really hard to fathom why for a sake of an item, jewelry or quantity of money, anybody would go to that extent to turn a firearm on an 11-year-old girl and be prepared to shoot and kill somebody,” said Detective-Sergeant Mike Fleishhacker during a press conference Friday.

The hold-up took place in the evening of August 1, 2014 at 5010 Steeles Ave. W. in Vaughan.

Police say a female suspect posed as a customer and entered the Asia Gold Inc. store just before 8 p.m. and asked to see a white gold necklace.
