REGINA – Two people from Regina are facing a total of thirteen charges after being caught by police stealing and selling prescription drugs.
During the month of April, police have been investigating several thefts from a pharmacy in the 4100 block of Albert Street. As part of the investigation, police pulled over a vehicle leaving the pharmacy on Saturday at 6 a.m.
The 46-year-old driver of the vehicle was taken into custody without incident, and a search of his vehicle revealed more than 600 pills including morphine, hydromorphone, and a quantity of methamphetamine.
Police also obtained a warrant for the suspect’s home in the 2900 block of Queen Street and the search revealed around 350 more pills including Diazepam, Lorazepam, Dilantin, and Cyclobenzaprine. Police also found two stolen motorcycles at the house.
46-year-old Kenneth Darin Orchin of Regina is facing several charges including Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Theft over $5,000 and Possession of a Scheduled Substance.
42-year-old Stacey Ann Orchin of Regina is charged with Possession of a Scheduled Substance and Possession of Stolen Property.
Both made their first court appearance in Regina on Monday morning.
