Alberta election poll suggests tight three way race

CALGARY – The latest election poll in Alberta shows a tight three way race between the PC’s, Wildrose and NDP.

The latest numbers put Wildrose in front at 32 percent among decided voters, NDP at 31 percent and the PC’s at 26 percent.

The poll from national research firm ‘Mainstreet Technologies’ and was conducted via Interactive Voice Response (IVR) on April 19th, 2015.

They asked 397 people in the riding who they would vote for if the election were held tomorroCalgary-Fortw.

The majority of respondents (43 per cent) said NDP candidate and former Calgary councillor Joe Ceci, while only 32 per cent said Wildrose candidate Jeevan Mangat.

One of the most interesting ridings to watch in Calgary will be Calgary-Fort.

That’s where NDP leader Rachel Notley was Saturday with former Councillor Joe Ceci, the area NDP candidate.

A recent poll showed 43 percent of decided voters are behind the NDP in the riding, with Wildrose at 32 percent.

Calgary-Fort is up for grabs with the retirement of long time PC MLA Wayne Cao.

Saturday in Calgary, Notley says she wants to see a royalty review conducted by experts and maintains corporations need to pay more.

“We have room to ask those profitable corporations to contribute just a little bit more while maintaining our competitiveness and while ensuring that we protect our healthcare and the future of our kids,” Notley said.

Liberal leader David Swann was door knocking in his riding of Calgary-Mountain View Saturday.
