EDMONTON — Nearly 50 downtown bus routes will be permanently changed to accommodate the area’s revitalization and construction of the southeast Valley LRT line.

Changes to ETS routes 1, 2, 5, 52, 88, 109, 309 and 135 will take effect this Sunday, April 26. The changes will impact routes, schedules and stops, including those along 102 Avenue near City Centre Mall, YMCA, Commerce Place, Churchill Square and the Stanley A. Milner Library.

ETS bus route 135 will no longer exist, instead becoming part of route 5.

An additional 40 routes will be changed as of June 28.  Details about those alterations will be revealed in the coming weeks.

Transit officials say the changes will impact thousands of riders, but describe the service changes as “minimal, in terms of they’ll only be a block or two from the original stop,” said Jennifer Laraway with ETS.
