WATCH ABOVE: Joshua Bass didn’t know just how memorable his latest class picture would be.
TORONTO – A third grader in North Carolina got the surprise of his life recently when he was photobombed by his father, a soldier who he thought was still fighting overseas.
In a video recorded by WTVD, eight-year-old Joshua Bass calmly stood as a photographer prepared to capture his annual school picture at Pearsontown Magnet Elementary.
While Joshua kept his focus on the photographer, his father, Corporal James Bass, stepped out from behind a background to strike a funny pose behind his son.
Joshua eventually noticed something odd while reviewing the pictures with the photographer. He immediately turned around and leaped into his father’s arms for a very emotional reunion.
Bass spent months in Kuwait, according to ABC, and is currently on leave.
