The Vernon man has now pleaded guilty to criminal negligence causing bodily harm.

The charges of failing to stop at an accident with a person and attempting to obstruct justice will likely be stayed at a future court date.

Heeley, who is being held in custody, is expected to be sentenced in May.

Orcherton’s family and friends recently raised thousands of dollars to help pay for renovations to Orcherton’s home to accommodate her paralysis.
