This affects the area extending from the United States border on the south, through the Interlake to Gypsumville and Berens River in the north and east to the Ontario border.
Manitobans are reminded that no open burning is allows without a permit from April 1 to Nov. 15 and all existing permits are cancelled.
All-terrain vehicle users also must use spark arrestors. Other fire safety measures ATV riders can take include checking areas around the engine and exhaust frequently and carefully removing debris. Users are also reminded to be prepared by carrying a fire extinguisher, small axe and shovel.
Anyone with questions about when they can burn again is advised to call the nearest Manitoba Conservation and Water Stewardship office.
