SASKATOON – Duane and Ruth Hume are no longer dreaming about their future. The Unity couple are Saskatchewan’s latest millionaires after winning the guaranteed one-million dollar prize in the April 5 Lotto 6-49 draw.
“I just started crying,” said Ruth. “I was just so happy because now Duane can park his truck and just be home.”
“This has fulfilled all of my dreams. It will be nice that Duane can be home.”
At first, Ruth wasn’t sure they had won.

“The retailer put the ticket through the machine and the machine started to make a different noise,” said Ruth.
“I thought it said that we had won $100,000 and a free play, but I wasn’t sure, so I asked the retailer. Together we counted all the zeros and realized it was a one-million dollar win!” added Duane.
“I think it’s just sinking in now.”
The Humes said winning won’t change their lives, but will give them added financial security along with allowing Duane to retire.
