WATCH: Claire Martin announces she will seek Green Party nomination
VANCOUVER – The Green Party is attracting another big name.
Former CBC meteorologist Claire Martin has announced plans to seek the nomination in a B.C. riding for the next federal election.
Green Party leader Elizabeth May joined Martin at a press conference Wednesday in North Vancouver.
Martin was the CBC’s senior meteorologist for nine years. Last year it was announced she was joining Anaïd Productions as their managing director.
“Everyone at Anaïd Productions is happy for Claire and her decision to run for the Green Party nomination here in British Columbia for the upcoming federal election,” said Margaret Mardirossian, founder and executive producer of Anaïd Productions, in a release. “She would make an exceptional candidate and she will no doubt go far in the world of politics. She has done a tremendous job as managing director at Anaïd Productions and we wish her the very best.”
