Police say speed, alcohol factors in deadly Glamorgan crash

CALGARY – Calgary police say speed and alcohol appear to be factors in a fatal crash that killed a 25-year-old man.

It happened at 46 Avenue and 37 street Southwest just after 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

Police say the 25-year-old man was driving a 2006 Jeep Liberty when it hit a Jeep Grand Cherokee at high speeds. The Jeep Liberty then spun into oncoming traffic and was T-boned by a white SUV before coming to a rest on the curb.

A 58-year-old woman, who was driving the SUV, was taken to Foothills Hospital in serious but stable condition.

Each vehicle had single occupants. The driver of the Jeep Grand Cherokee walked away from the scene uninjured.

Police say they are looking for witnesses of the crash or anyone who may know about events leading up to it.
