Vancouver Police are looking for the driver of Jeep following a string of violent incidents in East Vancouver on Tuesday afternoon.
The first incident happened at about 4:30 p.m. when a man allegedly groped a woman on a bus at East Hastings Street near Windermere. According to VPD, the man hopped off the bus near Renfrew Street, walked to East Pender and attempted to get into a Jeep that was stopped at the intersection. The suspect was unsuccessful at entering the locked Jeep and the driver sped off.
The man then went to a nearby Petro Canada Gas Station where he allegedly tried to steal the purse of a mother, who was in her car with a baby. The suspect was scared off by the father and turned his attention to woman who was filling her car with gas. After ripping the nozzle from her hands and spraying gas on the ground, the suspect fled.
With the help of the police K9 unit the man was taken into custody where police found he was wanted on two B.C.-wide warrants.
Robert Thomas Becking has been charged with uttering threats, causing a disturbance and resisting arrest. The 22-year old is being held in custody until his next court appearance.
Vancouver Police are now appealing to the driver of the Jeep to contact the detachment.
