The Penticton Hospital Auxiliary, along with the hospital gift shop, are stepping up with a $400,000 pledge. The Auxiliary is committing to a $250,000 donation, with the gift shop adding another $150,000. The groups will collect and donate the funds over the next five years.
“The mandate for both is patient comfort and care,” says June Revell-Quevillon, president of the Auxiliary and gift shop. “Most of our funds go to medical equipment anyway, so it fits within that mandate.”
The tower is projected to cost $325-million, with the South Okanagan Similkameen Medical Foundation stepping up to pay $20-million.
This is this third significant donation the SOSMF has recieved in the last two weeks.
