The 30-year-old woman did have some minor injuries and was very upset and shaken.

One neighbour said he could hear screams from inside his home. “At first I thought it was, sometimes you hear the animals screaming from the forest a lot,” he said. “After the last screams, then someone scream lower, in a lower tone ‘help help’ and that’s when I got ready and started to look carefully.”

That is when he said he saw police cars outside his home.

There is no indication from police that this incident is connected to a series of sexual assaults on the UBC campus, dating back to 2013. The latest happened on March 18, when a woman was attacked at Totem Park residence around 1 a.m. The 27-year-old student was found and arrested and police say this was not connected to the 2013 attacks.
