REGINA – Students at the University of Regina are running out of time to decide whether they want to have a bus pass next year.

At 5 o’clock on Thursday the student union’s referendum will come to a close.

The universal bus pass would cost students between 70 and 90 dollars a semester in exchange for unlimited transit usage during the school year.

Students who live outside city limits, or live within a kilometer of campus would be exempt from the program.

The U-Pass referendum has been shot down twice before, but in those cases, very few students voted.

The student union estimates almost 30 per cent of the student body has made their vote count, compared to 8 per cent and 13 per cent in previous years.
