Instructors at Langara college have now voted overwhelmingly in favour of going on strike.
The instructors previously engaged in job action three years ago after talks broke down over resources and course loads.
This time around, the two sides are failing to make progress on wages, salaries and working conditions.
The strike mandate was approved by 91 per cent of the people who voted.
There are no immediate plans to walk off the job.
Langara instructors have been without a contract since March 31 of last year.
In 2011, the Langara Faculty Association served the college with a 72-hour strike notice.
Faculty have also used tactics like withholding submission of final grades during the strike.
