CALGARY – Police have released a photo of a man believed to be responsible for what they say is a random stabbing.
A man in his 50’s was attacked while standing on the eastbound City Hall CTrain platform just after 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
Police say the victim became involved in a verbal altercation with the suspect before he was stabbed. However, investigators don’t think the two men were known to each other, and say a motive is still unknown.
The suspect is described as in his 40s, approximately 5’7” tall, 200 lbs., and clean shaven. He was wearing a dark-coloured toque, green jacket, blue jeans and beige work boots. He also had a black backpack with him.
Anyone with information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
The victim remains in hospital in serious but stable condition.
