Winnipeg curlers still going strong at world juniors overseas

WINNIPEG — The Team Canada Braden Calvert rink clinching a playoff spot at the World Junior Curling Championships in Tallinn, Estonia. The team which curls out of the Deer Lodge Curling Club defeated Scotland 10-4 in draw 7 in their only game on Wednesday. The victory improves their record to 6 and 1, good for second place with 2 round robin games still remaining.

After losing their 2nd game of the tournament to Russia, Canada has now won 5 straight games and one more victory would guarantee themselves a spot in the 1 vs 2 page playoff game. Canada will play undefeated Switzerland in their first of two games on Thursday.

Canada’s junior women’s team skipped by Kelsey Rocque leads the women’s standings with 7 wins and no losses.
