A female convenience store clerk in Lexington, Kentucky, was able to fend off two gun-wielding robbers attempting to steal cash from the register on Saturday.
According to a report from local broadcaster WTVQ, Zara Adil managed to take one of the robbers gun as he was gathering up the store’s cash.
“I picked up the gun and pointed it at the second guy, and said you run or I will shoot you,” Adil told WTVQ’s Amber Krycka.
During the tussle that followed, the robber’s partner in crime fled the scene and Adil wrestled the remaining thief to the ground.
The man finally managed to break free and also fled, without the money.
“If more people stand up, they won’t have that much courage to go around and do what they’re doing,” says Adil.
