Man charged in stabbing outside downtown Calgary bar

CALGARY – Police have laid charges against a 24-year-old man in connection to a weekend stabbing outside a downtown bar.

Officers were called to the 200 block of 8th Avenue S.W. around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday for reports that three people had been stabbed.

Investigators took one man into custody at the scene.

On Tuesday, police announced 24-year-old Bill Ly had been charged with two counts of aggravated assault and three counts of breaches of conditions.

Detectives are asking anyone who may have information, photos or video of the incident to contact police at 403-266-1234 or Crime Stoppers.
