CRANBROOK, B.C. – Sam McKechnie scored twice, including the winner 24 seconds into overtime, as Saskatoon slipped past Kootenay 5-4. Josh Uhrich, Wyatt Sloboshan and Amil Krupic rounded out the attack for the Blades (17-36-3).

The Blades blew a 4-1 lead before salvaging two points. Brock Hamm made 33 saves for the win.

Tim Bozon led the Ice (28-27-2) offensively with three goals – one of which forced extra time at 19:06 of the third period – and Vince Loschiavo added the other. Declan Hobbs stopped 25 shots in defeat.

The Blades are back home on Wednesday when they will take on the Red Deer Rebels.

Wheat Kings 5 Raiders 2

In Brandon, Duncan Campbell scored twice as the Wheat Kings ran their point streak to 15 games with a 5-2 win over the Prince Albert Raiders. Peter Quenneville, Reid Gow and Nolan Patrick also scored for the Eastern-Conference leading Wheat Kings (42-9-6), and Morgan Klimchuk tacked on three assists.

The Wheat Kings are 13-0-2 during their run.

Tim Vanstone and Colton Heffley supplied the offence for the Raiders (23-32-2), who sit eight points behind the final playoff spot in the East.

Brandon’s Jordan Papirny made 35 saves for the win as Rylan Parenteau stopped 42-of-46 shots for Prince Albert.

The Wheat Kings went 0 for 8 on the power play while the Raiders scored once on four chances with the man advantage.

Royals 6 Thunderbirds 3

KENT, Wash. – Jack Walker had three goals and an assist and Coleman Vollrath made 28 saves as Victoria doubled up Seattle to move one point ahead of the Thunderbirds in the Western Conference standings. Austin Carroll scored once and set up two more for the Royals (31-21-4), who sit fourth in the West, while Alex Forsberg and Tyler Soy each added a goal.

Jerret Smith, Scott Eansor and Roberts Lipsbergs found the back of the net for Seattle (29-20-7). Taran Kozun allowed five goals on 28 shots before giving way to Logan Flodell, who stopped all eight shots he faced in 23:51 of relief.

Victoria’s Ryan Gagnon was handed a five-minute major and game misconduct for an illegal check to the head at 4:10 of the third period.
