Court heard Tuesday that Jaser abandoned the train plot entirely a few hours after they were questioned by police about why they had been on the tracks.

Jaser’s backing out of the plot incensed Esseghaier, who berated him in conversations played in court and said he and the undercover officer would search for “another believer.”

Court was told Jaser’s alleged alternative plan involved using a sniper to target prominent members of Canadian society and “rich Jews.”
