At 6:45am we continue our conversation around Alzheimer’s Awareness with a focus on the research being done to treat the condition. Dr. Mark Jonhston and his team at True North Clinical Research are holding free memory clinics in Halifax for those who may be experiencing some forms of memory loss. In addition to the clinics, True North is also looking for participants to take part in clinical trials of new medications not yet available to the public.
Roses are red, tulips are too. At 7:15am Susan MacIntosh of Props Floral Design brings in some beautiful locally-grown tulips. Plus she shows us how to make them last an extra week with a little creativity.
One year after Ray Ivany released his report looking at ways to improve Nova Scotia’s economy, many are still wondering if there’s been any progress made to turn things around. Ivany’s report identified obstacles, proposed aggressive solutions and challenged us to reverse our economic decline. At 7:45am we’ll talk with the president of the Atlantic Institute for Market Studies about a panel discussion happening on Wednesday that will look at the issues identified in that report and whether or not the province is headed in the right direction.
At 8:15am we sit down at the red table for a chat with Halifax-based singer/songwriter Christina Martin. The multiple Music Nova Scotia and ECMA award winner is back with a new look and a new sound on her fifth studio album, “It’ll be Alright”. We’ll get a behind the scenes look at the new record and hear more about a big album release show planned for next week in Halifax.
