WATCH ABOVE: Montrealer Camille DG shares what’s trending in men’s fashion
MONTREAL — If you’re a lucky guy who’s scored a first date with the girl you’ve been pining over, you may want to take a look at your wardrobe and see what you can do to dress sharp.
After all, as fashion blogger Camille DG notes, making a good first impression is a must.
“Guys often don’t know how to dress, and for girls, that’s a miss.”
“For girls, we’re going to notice that and say ‘he is Ok for me or not?'” she said.
Here’s a quick look at three of her top first-date dress-to-kill tips:
Don’t look like a boy
Although her favourite dates are casual dates, DG said there’s nothing worse than a man who shows up dressed like a boy.
“You don’t want to look like a kid out there.”
“You want to be a man,” she said.
“Choose your nice shirt, the one you really love, the one that looks cool.”
Choose your Ts with care
There’s a difference between wearing a t-shirt with an inappropriate joke on it and a t-shirt with a fun saying on it, noted DG.
“If you wear something cute, it can start a conversation,” she advised.
If the suit fits…
If you’re going on a more formal date, wear a tailored suit – and make sure it fits you nicely.
“There’s nothing worst than a man wearing a suit that doesn’t fit,” she said.

Last of all, wear nice socks (not white!) and polished shoes.
“A lot of girls won’t like it if you wear your old sneakers,” she said.
“Wear nice shoes. Go for fun socks, polka dots or with jokes on them. It’s a way to be a little cooler, even if you’re wearing a suit.”
