Kelowna’s Ski2Sea Race cancelled

KELOWNA — It’s the end of the road for the Ski2Sea Race.

Organizers say they have no choice but to cancel the event primarily due to a lack of sponsorship.

A message on the official ski2sea race website says: “As a non-profit, volunteer organization, the feasibility of the race must be looked at. This is a territorially complicated race as it spans the distance of Big White to City Park. There is a high degree of logistics to keeping all participants safe and the community inconvenienced as little as possible.”

The event had been in existence since 1980.
