5-vehicle accident on Nova Scotia highway claims life of man, 23

WINDSOR, N.S. – RCMP say a 23-year-old man is dead and four people sustained minor injuries in a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 101 in Nova Scotia’s Annapolis Valley.

Police say the crash involving five vehicles occurred near Ellershouse around 8 a.m. Thursday.

Police say the victim was from Hants County and was driving a car that became pinned between a cube van and a Nova Scotia Power truck.

Police say the people who were injured ranged in age from 24 to 56.

All were treated by paramedics and released.

The Mounties say eastbound lanes of the highway between Exits 3 and 4 remained closed and traffic was being rerouted onto Highway 14.
