WATCH ABOVE: Aggravated assault charges have been filed against a northern New Jersey high school student who allegedly attacked his 62-year-old teacher in a dispute over a cellphone.
A New Jersey teen has been charged after allegedly attacking his teacher in a high school classroom after the man, 62, confiscated a cellphone.
The incident was caught on camera by another person in the room.

The video of the Jan. 20th incident begins as the teen appears to be body-slamming the teacher, pushing him across the front of the room and onto the floor. Fellow students are then seen pulling the boy off the teacher as they call for security.
NorthJersey.com reports the teen to be a grade-nine student at John F. Kennedy High School in Paterson, a community north of Newark. He faces charges of aggravated assault.
The 16-year-old was arrested at his home on Friday, and has been suspended from school. The teacher’s name has not been released. It is not clear if the man was injured in the assault.
The school has a cellphone policy allowing students to use their phones for academic purposes. Staff may take the devices away from the students if they are found to be using them for other purposes, and return the phones at the end of the school day.
