A woman is in serious condition following an assault in Surrey this afternoon.
The assault happened at a home located at 12836 100th Ave at about 1:30 p.m. today. The victim was rushed to Royal Columbian Hospital in serious condition.

RCMP officers were given a description of the male suspect, who reportedly fled the scene on foot. He was arrested near the location of the assault.
Mounties are currently on the scene investigating and believe the female victim and male suspect knew one another.
