A Kamloops couple is heartbroken after a robbery in which thieves claimed some of their most prized possessions.
The Hannahs say the robbery has been devastating because of how thorough the thieves were.
The couple had only been living in their house for a few months when they went to visit their daughter in Alberta.
They came back to find just a sofa and bed left.
Everything of value had been scooped up, even things that could not have financial value to the crooks, including family photos and a very important dress. The couple could not afford to buy a wedding dress when they first got married, but Gord Hannah bought his wife a dress on their 25th anniversary. Now that memory is gone.
The Hannahs didn’t have renters’ insurance. Everything they need to replace the basics will have to come out of their own pocket.
“They ripped my soul out,” says Tammy Hannah. “They ripped it out. They didn’t care. Just give me back our stuff please.”
Police tell Global News it is an ongoing investigation.
