A 32-year-old Red Deer man suffered a gunshot wound early Thursday morning in what RCMP are calling a home invasion and attempted homicide.
Police were called to an apartment building downtown at about 1 a.m.

The victim was treated by paramedics at the scene.
RCMP say this was a targeted attack and the public is not at risk.
They have identified several suspects and are currently searching for them.
The victim’s injury is not considered life-threatening.
He remains in hospital in stable condition.
