Man lands in jail after flight from Toronto to Saskatoon

SASKATOON – A man on a flight from Toronto to Saskatoon had a hard landing. The 29-year-old Saskatoon man ended up in jail after being accused of stealing an item from the plane’s kitchen.

Police were called to John G. Diefenbaker International Airport to meet the flight that arrived just before 9 p.m. Officers boarded the plane and removed the man.

Police have not said what flight he was on or the item alleged to have been stolen. Jake Michael Piasentini is charged with theft under $5,000 along with mischief over $5,000.

The man, who has not been named, is scheduled to appear in provincial court Tuesday morning.
