Alcohol considered factor after teen found frozen in northern Sask.

DESCHAMBAULT LAKE, Sask. – Alcohol may have played a role in the death of a teen in northern Saskatchewan. The body of an 18-year-old was found in the parking lot of Deschambault Lake on Jan. 2.

The teen, who has not been named, was last seen heading home around 5:30 a.m. His body was discovered by a passing snowmobiler over the noon-hour that day.

An autopsy was carried out in Saskatoon and foul play was ruled out. Mounties consider alcohol to be a factor in the death.

There were extreme cold weather conditions at the time of the death.

Deschambault Lake is approximately 375 kilometres northeast of Saskatoon.
