Wanted man arrested for stealing truck left running

NIPAWIN, Sask. – A truck owner was waiting for the vehicle to warm up before leaving work Friday when it was seen being driven away at a high rate of speed. Nipawin RCMP says it received a call at 7:50 p.m. about a theft in progress at a local business.

In under an hour, police located the vehicle a few blocks from where it was taken. Raini Henderson, 24, was arrested for possession of stolen property, impaired care and control of a motor vehicle and failing to comply with undertaking conditions.

He was also found to be on warrant from Saskatoon police and Montreal Lake RCMP for further breaches of conditions. Henderson was remanded into custody and will appear in provincial court Tuesday.

Nipawin is approximately 225 kilometres northeast of Saskatoon.
