WINNIPEG – The next Manitoba election will be April 19, 2016, Elections Manitoba confirmed Monday morning.
The set election date under provincial law was Oct. 6, but with the fixed election date for the next federal vote set as Oct. 19, the Elections Amendment Act moves the provincial election to April.
The change was made to eliminate overlap in the timing of provincial and federal elections, Elections Manitoba says.
