A Halifax man is facing charges of possession of child porn.
Halifax Regional Police said the charges were laid after a search of an apartment earlier this year by the Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division.
Police said they searched an apartment on Regency Park Drive on September 26, arresting a suspect at the scene and seizing computer equipment.
The suspect was later released from custody without charges and the equipment was sent for analysis.
Police said 49-year-old Andrew Angus Perkins turned himself in at Police Headquarters on December 23 at 4pm and was rearrested. He faces a charge of possession of child pornography.
Perkins is scheduled to appear in court on February 26, 2015. He has been released from custody under conditions not to communicate with children under the age of 16, not to possess a device able to access the internet, and not be within 50 metres of a place frequented by children.
