IHIT recovers vehicle belonging to Richmond homicide victim

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says they have recovered a vehicle belonging to a 25-year-old homicide victim.

Theoren Poitras was found dead on Oct.2. in a local park in Richmond.

He was known to police and was believed to be affiliated to gang activity in Alberta.

Investigators says they believe Poitras died as the result of a targeted shooting and the suspect or suspects immediately departed the crime scene following the shooting.

They say the motive has not been confirmed.

According to police, Poitras was in possession of a red 2007 Suzuki Grand Vitara that was taken from the crime scene following the shooting.

This car has been recovered in Pitt Meadows in November 2014 and forensic analysis has recently confirmed it to be the victim’s vehicle.
