Weekend storm prompts travel advisory

Kelowna–A storm coming in from the Pacific is dumping snow and rain in the B.C. interior.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the mountain passes. As much as 25 centimetres is expected in some higher elevations overnight, and 10 to 20 centimetres is forecasted for Sunday.

Freezing levels will fluctuate, meaning precipitation will change between snow and rain.

With temperatures hovering around the freezing mark, Environment Canada is advising that highway passes could become slick and dangerous.
