WINNIPEG – Attention thieves: it’s becoming more likely you’ll be caught on camera by vigilant homeowners.
Another Winnipegger has posted home surveillance video online, showing petty crooks entering his garage and making off with some property.
Travis Dietrich said the camera in his South St. Vital garage captured images clearly showing the face of the man early Tuesday morning.
He posted the video on YouTube and it quickly earned a couple thousand views.
In the video, the man searches through the car parked in the garage, leaves and returns wearing a hoodie. He carries off some tools and other property.
Dietrich reported the theft to police. The garage was left unlocked, with lights on, which may have drawn the thief’s attention, he said.
In November, a homeowner in Winnipeg’s Island Lakes neighbourhood posted video of two men with a pickup truck stealing the snowblower out of his yard.
