The precipitation, part of a nor’easter, started off Tuesday night as snow and ice, making for slippery roads in New England. Though it moved into Quebec overnight, the system gathered strength and redeveloped once again bringing everything from snow, mixed precipitation and rain to New England. Nova Scotia faced mostly rain.

The U.S. National Weather Service had issued winter storm warnings for much of New England on Wednesday.
