An act of good will and charity was returned to Lisa Hawkins when a local Salvation Army returned her lost diamond ring on Thursday.
When Hawkins noticed a Salvation Army donation kettle in front of a Macy’s store in Monroeville, Pennsylvania, she decided to donate.
“I was scooping the change out of my purse and threw it in there,” said Hawkins.
She didn’t realize she had also thrown in the 10-year diamond anniversary ring she was carrying in her purse to get sized the next day.
Married to her husband for 34 years, Hawkins was devastated to realize that she had lost the $10,000 ring.
Luckily for her, a local reporter tracked down her ring at the Salvation Army and delivered the good news to her on camera.
“Thank you!” she responded, her voice breaking.
Feeling grateful, Hawkins said another donation to the Salvation Army is on its way.
