Thief makes off with man’s mittens on cold Saskatchewan night

PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. – A Prince Albert man claims to have been robbed of his mittens on a cold Saskatchewan night by another man armed with a dirty needle. The robbery happened Saturday around 10:20 p.m. in the 400-block of 21st Street East

The man told Prince Albert police he was walking home when he was approached by a man who was known to him. The suspect showed a used needle and demanded money.

Once the victim turned over his cash and his mittens to the suspect, he turned and fled on foot. No injuries were reported.

The temperature that night dipped below minus 27 Celsius.

Police have issued a warrant for the arrest of the 40-year-old suspect. His name has not been released.
