After dog bite at Holt Renfrew, should dogs be allowed in Toronto stores?

TORONTO – The toddler who was bitten by a dog at the Bloor Street Holt Renfrew location was readmitted to the Hospital for Sick Children Monday night after developing an infection in her arm.

As Global News reported Monday, the toddler’s mother, Catherine McDonald wants the store to change its policy regarding dogs so no one else is bitten.

So should dogs be allowed inside stores in Toronto? Global News viewers on Twitter had differing opinions with some supporting prohibiting dogs from entering stores, while others pointing out that not all dogs are dangerous.

Eve was bitten by a Chinese Shar Pei near the cosmetics aisle of Holt Renfew on Bloor Street Sunday afternoon.  The wounds were quite deep and doctors couldn’t close them fearing they could easily become infected. Eve was given oral antibiotics but they were not effective and she was readmitted to hospital Monday evening.

McDonald said in an email that Eve will likely be in hospital for 48 hours.
