Zach will be back for Blue Bombers

WINNIPEG – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers continue to get a jump on next season with another player signing. Defensive tackle Zach Anderson agreed to a two-year deal to avoid free agency.

“Zach is one of those players you just love to have on your roster,” said general manager Kyle Walters in a media release, “an extremely hard working, professional, athletic football player. He is one of those core locker room guys you often hear about.”

Anderson has played two seasons in Winnipeg but only appeared in 10 games last season before suffering a season-ending knee injury. He had three sacks and 20 defensive tackles before tearing his ACL.

“This organization has treated me very well since I first got to Winnipeg in 2013,” said Anderson. “But what really solidified everything for me was how I was treated once I was injured — getting a call from our CEO the afternoon I was hurt, just asking how I was doing, speaks to the class this organization has.”

Anderson is continuing his rehab and should be ready for the start of 2015 CFL season.
