OTTAWA – Saskatchewan continues to have the lowest unemployment rate in the country along with the fastest yearly job growth rate.
Statistics Canada numbers released Friday peg the unemployment rate at 3.5 per cent in October, unchanged from the previous month and still the lowest in Canada.
Nationally, the unemployment rate dropped 0.3 percentage points to 6.5 per cent, the lowest it has been since November 2008.

The number of jobs in the province grew by 0.4 per cent, with 2,300 more people working last month over September. All those gains were in part-time employment, with 600 less people working full-time.
On a yearly basis, employment was up 3.3 per cent, the fastest growth rate in Canada, with 18,400 new jobs created between October 2013 and 2014.
