There was a strong police response in the McKenzie Towne area Wednesday afternoon after reports of a possible armed robbery in the South Trail Crossing shopping area.
The incident started with a hit and run just before 3 pm.
Following the crash, the driver ran into the McKenzie Towne Walmart, on 130th Avenue SE.
Police say when he was approached by staff, he pulled out a gun and then took off.
McKenzie Towne School was locked down as a precaution.
As of Wednesday evening at 7:30 pm, the suspect was still on the loose.
