NEAR PENTICTON — A fatal crash on Halloween morning claimed the life of a 74-year-old Penticton man.
Thomas Viji Santosham was the only occupant of an SUV when it rolled off the side of Farleigh Lake Road East and into Farleigh Lake at roughly 6:30 a.m.
An hour and a half later, a neighbour spotted the vehicle in the water and called 9-1-1. Santosham’s body was recovered by an RCMP dive team later that day.
The B.C. Coroners Service is still investigating with officials saying it’s too early to determine what caused Santosham to veer his vehicle off the road. Weather, road conditions and potential medical issues are all being looked at along with other possible factors.
